Hi my name is Anthony and I am an Engineer by background but I'm also a Certified Resume Strategist approved by the Career Professionals of Canada. You are probably wondering why an Engineer would decide to get into the career services field so i will tell you my story. 

 

A few years ago I found myself in a horrible position, I had just gotten fired from a job I loved. I was devastated and thought it was all downhill from there, I figured that getting fired was the most damaging thing that could happen to my career.

 

I started applying for jobs and didn’t receive a single call back, I guessed it was because employers didn't want to hire someone that had been fired. Each month I lowered my standards and applied for lower level positions but still didn’t receive a single call back.

 

I finally decided to contact a Career Consultant and spoke to Mr Steve about what I was going through. Steve spent the next month changing my mindset about the job search and taught me how to package myself to highlight my strengths and manage weaknesses. Two months later I had received two job offers and both were significantly better than my old job.  

 

I often say that getting fired was a blessing in disguise as I learned how to find a job which is an important lifeskill that most people never learn.  l am also able to share the experience with others and motivate them to learn the right way to find a job.

 

I have noticed that most people spending months doing the wrong things in their job search and seeing little results.
